Hi again,
I have several questions on the LORAN-A pulses:
First off, consider a Master and one Slave. You are in a ship at anchor
somewhere so your position is stable.
The pulses you see on the LORAN set are just from the single Master and
single Slave. You see something like this:
P............P........P............P........P.....
^----1/PRR------------^-------1/PRR----------^
M............S........M............S........M.....
Q: Were all the chain timings set up so that for every possible ship
location, the time between M->S was ALWAYS GREATER THAN S->M ??
AND:
Q: For a chain with a Master and two Slaves, which way was the timing set up:
Master sends PRR1 to Slave1 and Slave2
or
Master sends PRR1 to Slave1 and PRR2 to Slave2.
Q: If the latter, how did each Slave know which pulse from the Master to
use to start the timing and its transmission.
Best,
-John
