One has to wonder if it really is worth destroying a somewhat hard to find
military radio that has some historical value (at least until a ham hobbyist
buggers it up for "fun"). AFAIK, it's the first VHF-AM emergency radio that
was in common issue by the US Armed Forces. The AN/CRC-7 had very marginal
value as a ham rig more than half a century ago, and it has zero value as a
ham rig today. A cheap used 50-year-old Heathkit Two'er is far more capable.

The same applies to the AN/URC-4 and AN/URC-11, but at least they are much more
common than the AN/CRC-7 or its immediate successor, the AN/PRC-17.
