Jerry,
Personally I know nothing about the ARC54.  I am forwarding your note
to the Boatanchors Reflector.  There are folks on that reflector who
may know something or who may be able to forward it in turn to a
Military Radio Reflector where you might get some help.

Jim Hanlon, W8KGI

Hello Jim:  Ran across your article in a Jan2009  QST while
reorganizing most of
my QSTs!  Recently I purchased an ARC54/RT-348 FM transceiver from
Fair Radio, Lima, Ohio. and they also sent me a little info from the ARC54  TM,
but really not enough to get things off the ground!!  The unit really needs the
control unit which they don't have!!  And of course the problem is where to
connect an antenna and so on.  However with the info they sent (at my request)
I can connect power (+27.5 VDC), grounds, etc.  And some of those pins
on rear connector must go to antenna, mike, etc.  Without the control
I mentioned
the tuning is a little complicated, but can be done.  The units three
tubes check
out OK on my tube checker.  What would be really helpful is a
complete schematic
of what I have!!  The units frequency range is what I am interested
in,  I think it
starts at 30 MHz and goes well above 60 MHz.

Would appreciate any information!!  And have not fired the unit up as yet!!
