Dave, What your friend has is one of the most sought after of the "spy" radios. In the 50s, kits for building these radios were advertised in the various radio magazines. I was called the "LUCY" receiver and you could get the complete kit for $19.95. My guess is these kits were comprised of left-over parts after the gov't cancelled the contract for the SRR-5. I will send you pictures in a separate email. Mike, W6MAB

Subject: [Milsurplus] SRR-5-B Set ... As a Kit?
Can anyone tell me about a set known as SRR-5-B?
A friend has found one. All the major componants are
mounted inside, but no wiring or point-to-point parts
have been installed. Anything about this set would
be appreciated. Thanks.
