Hi,

I passed the T1 post onto an aircraft guru. Here is his response for all
to read.

Best,

Beautiful! The Link trainers had very crude analog computers with
very simple controls. The T1 bombsight computer is a "modern marvel."

This one had a pneumatic gyro. Later (post s/n 18000) had electric.
The design is by the remarkable Patrick Blackett at Royal Aircraft
Establishment (RAE) Farnborough. In the RAF it was known as the Mk1V,
and was installed in Blenheim and Wellington bombers. In 1943 the
British contracted with Sperry/AC Delco to manufacture it, with U.S.
standards and measures, under the model name T1 (fitted to Liberators
and Mitchells). More than 23,000 were delivered to U.S. and U.K.

There is mention of a T1 manual in the possession of the late Henry
Black in an article on the T1 bombsight:

There may be further information as to the "unknown" controls in this
manual. The webmaster of the lancaster-archive is

Larry Wright

His address is larry617 "at" lancaster-archive.com

He is apparently recently involved in a project to restore an
Avro-Lancaster RN-195 at the Nanton (Alberta) Bomber Command Museum
of Alberta.
