An R-392 takes about 5  1/2  amps total if it has the tube audio output 
stage.  The only concern would be the RF hash created by a switching 
supply, some supplies are great others are awful. Chances are, locating 
it away from the receiver would reduce or eliminate the noise.    Bruce
