I've seen that left and right. One store down on Canal St. in NYC was like
that, had lots of interesting stuff all over my (as a kid) price range, but it
just sat and sat and the guy was non-negotiable on price. When he closed shop
all the stuff ended up on the street and I managed to be there at one point and
I got some great stuff, literally all I could move, for free.
