Sorry if I gave that impression (that it was a 1939 unit).
The appraiser said the first of the series was made in 39; this unit was newer because it had the newer HP logo

ARS is generally clueless on tech items. It was a nice clean box, but It 
looked later than 1939. It had a post war look, IMO.
