Because the exposure rate of the radioactive Radium diminishes as the square of the distance use a box much larger than the meter in order to substantially reduce detection.  Does your geiger counter read in mR/h?  If so you may measure at the surface of a package wether you are within shipping regulations.  Shipping them all at once may exceed mail regs.
