And it wasn't the "normal" case of two bidders each determined to have it.  
There were five bids over $500.  Reminds me of some FT-501 A-battery 
adaptors for the BC-611 and BC-721 that I sold 7 or 8 years ago.  My and Tom 
Gordon's list prices at the time were $20-$25.  Someone on eBay sold one for 
about $150.  A local collector whom I know sent me the item number.  I quickly 
wrote an ad and listed it.  And over the next two weeks or so, I sold about a 
dozen of them at prices ranging from a high of $123 down to about $50.  I 
think that everyone who had bid on the first one bought at least one from me. 
 Including the guy who bought the first one.  :-)  I started all of them 
off at about what my current list price was.
