[Milsurplus] CARC paint

I have a mounting base which looks like CARC paint.  At least it is that 
color and grainy texture.

There are some areas which need touch-up.  I know I can go to the paint 
store and get a match, but is that a good paint to use?  What would be 
best in terms of texture and longevity?   I don't want it to easily wash 
or rub off.  Has anyone had any success with any particular brand or 
technique?

I don't need the CARC properties, I just want the thing to look decent.
