Be warned! The BC-1000 is a difficult radio to get and keep working. Don't know if it's due to the age of the radios or just a poor design to begin with but of the several BC-1000 I have seen only about half have worked. There is always at least one in the Cold War net at Dayton. The other thing is they are very wide band, so much so that they tend to over deviate and not net well with more modern radios like the VRC-12, PRC-68 or PRC-25 Don't know what the deviation is set to but would not be surprised by it being in excess of 40 kHz.
