Thanks to all who replied. Sometimes many heads are better than one.
In summary, the BC-312 family receivers were all issued with the standard FT-162 shock mount upon which the receiver sat.
For mobile installations additional FT-178 “snubber” (i.e. anti-sway) brackets were used. These are part of the installation, not the radio proper. For example:
The SCR-193, consisting of BC-191 transmitter and BC-312 receiver, when fitted into a 4x4, used a single FT-178 located approximately in the middle of the receiver.
The SCR-399 and -499, consisting of BC-312 and BC-342 receivers and BC-610
transmitter, use two FT-178 to mount each receiver into wooden chests CH-121 and CH-120 respectively.
