Greetings:
Before I put this receiver on Ebay, I thought I'd offer it here.
Here are some photos:

This BC-348H is in good condition. This radio works well. When I bought it
(2007), it didn't receive a thing. I bought all new tubes for it and sent it
to the repair shop. The radio is in decent physical condition. It's actually
in a BC-348Q case, the dynamotor has been replaced with a neatly made
homebrew PS. The socket is missing and it has a new molded power cord.
There's a large scratch on the top of the case. It wrecked the paint there,
of course, but the denting isn't severe. It's not really a big deal. As
you'll see in the photos, some of the screws aren't original. There are two
small pieces of wood attached to the bottom.
Electrically, the radio works well. It was recently aligned, receives well
and the frequency tracks well with the graduations on all bands. There is
plenty of nice, clean audio. The shop that repaired it discovered a
modification to the AVC, but I don't know what it was. There's one small
issue... the radio is a bear to get audio out from the 6-9.5MHz band. You
must heavily finesse the bandswitch to get audio. It works though and I
suspect the switch simply requires cleaning. I've heard this complaint
about several '348s recently.
Price: $140(firm). Free Shipping and insurance by USPS Parcel Post to the
USA (Shipping will likely be $40 or thereabouts, so you're getting the radio
for $100). If you would like to make some other shipping or payment
arrangement, just let me know. Lots of things can be worked out. Seven day
ROR (buyer pays return shipping).Payment by Paypal or USPS money order only.
I'll pack it well and ship it within a couple of days of receipt of payment.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Andy K0AJL
