Rod, Bruce:

The Air Force started with Progress Line mobiles in about 1955, the year Prog Line was introduced. The Progress Line Portables came a few years later. I worked my way through college installing them at Kelly, Lackland, Brooks and Randolph AFBs, downtown AP and even one TPL system which went to Eglin. They leased most of them, on through TPL, Porta-Mobil and Voice Commanders. Then to PR and PE portables and so on. One warranty return of a PE was because the battery case had holes in it the size of a nail head. Caused by using the radio as a hammer to drive nails, what else?

Bruce,
You talking about GE "Porta-Mobiles" and "Commanders", etc?

Although GE Two-Way radios weren't actually GRC's and PRC's they were
used in abundance by the Air Force. I am looking for GE handhelds and
"lunchbox" sets and their accessories. Please include a price in your
response.

Thanks, Bruce Gentry KA2IVY
