[Milsurplus] VR tube question

I thought I'd sent this yesterday, but turns out I only replied to Bruce:

 The culprit turned out to be a bad ceramic bypass cap downstream from
 the VR tube.  The cap doesn't even show on the schematic in TM 11-806-
 must be a later revision.

 I guess it shouldn't, but it always amazes me how a 10 cent part can
 be the difference between Go and NO.

 Thank you, thank you to everyone who responded with suggestions.  I
 now have a full 110 watts out of the transmitter.  Modulation is  a
 bit weak with the M-29.  I  have yet to determine whether it's just
 the microphone or a transmitter problem, but the days not over yet.
