I also ride the short bus ... :-)

I'm listening. But only for malasadas instead of donuts. :-)

I live for it ... and now one person in particular.

What the target of my coming wrath did not take into account was that I have
looked on Hawaii. I also said "what I have when I die." Given sufficient
time and or an offer I can't refuse, what's here then won't be quite such a
problem.

WHY did the museum at Ford Island turn me down? No one bothered asking that
one but it has a lot to do with not having a complete ARA/ATA or GF/RU
(heck, I don't have *any* GF/RU components except maybe a control box.) and
the SCR-274-N being grade B. One of the people there was very pointed in
telling me to show them *complete* original systems which, of course, means
I need more pieces which Hue Miller has said not to send me ... and, of
course, he's the God of All Things Surplus.

After I'm done with the photos for the book and if Ford Island still doesn't
want it, the Navy equipment be used for show 'n tell as well as general
hamming but I will happily entertain offers to sell it instead. Heck, I'll
give them away under the right circumstances. Complete systems, not
piecemeal. Even so, I'll keep the Grade B system because it won't be as
original (reduced voltage power supplies in place of the Rx dynamotors, etc)
but still will be good for "gee-whiz" points for QSOs. The Type 12 etc
equipment still presents a problem (Anyone want a complete FES-1240?) and
the All-Cessna equipment will be an even larger one.

Dealers here in Hawaii ... well, if you can recommend one on the mainland
I'd be happy to send him what I have - pieces and intact units - *before* I
become a crispy critter in a ceramic or whatever pot to be buried with
Noelle. That would be surplus and civilian although a few large pieces
(HT-32, R-390A & BC-312 from memory) will probably have to stay behind
simply due to size/weight.

Dependent on how well my homebrew projects go, the Heathkit and Drake
equipment may become available ahead of time. I'm not sure about the SX-24
since it goes with the prewar transmitters so nicely. The G-43 will be well
and truly perverted so probably doesn't count while the SP-200 (more on that
in a different thread) I *hope* to have stay in Hawaii - maybe on display at
Diamondhead in the DEM/CD site if nowhere else.

Meanwhile, I'll resume working on the local clubs after I can get a good
inventory but they have been anything but encouraging. They're too hung up
on the rice boxes and EmComm to bother with older hollow state equipment
although I may be able to get them to unload the parts in free, take what
you want boxes.

I will repeat for those who are reading challenged, the equipment I have
*when I die* will go to Waimanalo Gulch. You give me somewhere to send it
after I'm done with it or find someone willing to pack it up to go to the
mainland and it's that much less landfill.

Best regards,
