Well, I based that on the fact that the only manual I have on it is dated
6/6/44 and does not show any supercession information.  On the other hand,
it "officially" uses DM-32-A, not DY-2/ARR-2 and some BC-nnnn components.

 

Well, according to Mike Hanz, that date fits.  The fact that it went into
AAF equipment suggests that the DM-32-* would be the preferred dynamotor
since that’s a unit already in inventory so spares won’t be a major problem.
To the best of my knowledge, the entire AN/ARC-5 production went to the Navy
until after the war so the DY-2/ARR-2 wouldn’t have been an inventory item
yet.
