Also, at a quick glance, those appear to be random lengths, while the real IN-83 are all the same length.

I would agree that they are not.  If you strung some onto a wire and then 
flexed the wire, the wire would be exposed at each joint and the total length 
occupied by the insulators would increase.  Antenna ceramic beads should be 
hemispherical male one end, female the other.
