[Milsurplus] Multiple Front End receiver

Mike,
I did, at one point, fab a 360 degree phase shifter form the National Semi
data book (did not have the appropriate OBS) and use the ARN 30 with a
center scale meter to demod the localizers and VOR signals at ADW. Spent a
pleasant hour or so on Suitland Parkway driving back and forth across the
approach path to 19L and watching he needle swing back and forth. I could
also tweak everything to see right left indication on the VOR. Interesting
stuff. Of course, these days, you'd probably end up proned at gunpoint after
the second trip across the approach path. In those day I could drive out to
the far end of the flight line and salvage wire and hardware from some
hulks while Transient Alert trucks rolled by to pull the drogues from ANG
Thuds.
Also, I'd get word of impending IG's at the comm group whereupon some good
dumpster diving was to be had.
Not bloody likely today.
I've still got those radios and all the accessories, but the truck has long
since died.
The good old days, I suppose.

Hmmm ... this would work with command Rx racks too. All the local
frequencies of interest can be hit with these two receivers and the R-15,
and only one is out of range of the R-34 - HJR tower.
HJR tower is not out of range of the RT-11s (Type 210s) of which I have
three, two for the FES-1240 (for which I still need interconnect info as
well as what I can find on the C-77 control head) and one questionable
spare. The R-34s and RT-11s would have to remain 24v but the rest don't.
Find a source of 24v so I can use the FES-1240 and I'm in business - and get
an ADF in the process. :-D
I'm not entirely sure what I'd do with the glide slope and marker beacon
receivers, though. And the 2 VOR/ILS indicators and the ADF indicator might
raise an eyebrow or two, especially in a vehicle clearly not intended to
fly. Oh, well.
Anyway, thanks for the idea. I can't remember what I have in storage but
I'm sure I can whip something cool and wonderful together.
