[Milsurplus] What on Earth??

I believe it is a mock-up for publicity. The loop does make it look like
UHF, but, as small as it is, it would probably be part of the tuned circuit
and vary all over the place. As many years as I have spent scouring around
in the hidden rooms of the Fort Monmouth museum's storage facilities and
library, I have never seen anything like it. And, I have seen a lot of
strange prototypes there. 73 - Mike

Tom,

I thought of the DAV as well, but I think that has a separate loaded
whip for transmitting. Could this set be VHF? Perhaps some elaboration
of the SCR-194/195? They had rather annoying long whips that I'm sure
got into trouble in field use.

Just guessing,
Al
