Ian,
FT-244-A is the (4) channel selector and frame holding the receiver and
transmitter together of the radio used as part of SCR-522, SCR-542 and SCR-624
(the radio is usually and erroneously called SCR-522). If the two larger
connectors that are still exposed when the front covers are closed are octal,
then it has been hacked. The original connectors were 12 and 18 pin male.
Plus a coaxial connector for the cable to the antenna. The other three
components that are probably present are BC-624-(*) receiver, BC-625-(*)
transmitter and CS-80-A case (the two lids are part of the case). Open the lids,
release the Dzus fasteners on the sides and the frame, receiver and
transmitter should lift out of the case.
Originally covered 100-156 MC AM. The radio itself is 12 (14) volt. The
most common set, SCR-522, got 12 VDC for the filaments, relays and channel
stepper from the 24 VDC PE-94 dynamotor.
