Thanks for all the info guys.

I've gone through about 20 manuals and one seemed to sum it up best with a 
statement along the lines of "it is practically impossible for anyone to 
determine what numbers should be used, the best thing to do is use the 
numbers posted on a similar vehicle"!

There is so much to take into consideration, it was mentioned in one manual 
that a couple of dozen parameters should be measured of the vehicle, the 
information sent to Engineering in DC or some such and wait God knows how 
long for a response...  Someday...  Maybe...
