Hue inquired of the list:

I don't know what role(s) the RAX-1 was designed to fill.  But the CG-46117 covered
7 to 27 MC, while the CG-46116 covered 1.5 to 9 MC.  What kind of communications
networks did the USN employ above 9 MC?

Many consider that the RAV system receivers above 9 MC (CBY-46107, 46108, and 46109),
or more likely the entire RAV complement of eight receivers covering .19 to 27 MC
was likely intended for signals intelligence collection, especially since the RAV
has NO remote controls in its official list of components.  The RAX-1 system has
exactly the same principal technical characteristics as the full RAV, but uses
only three local control receivers at less weight and size than the RAV used.
