As an aside, I've got a late manual dated August 3 1945 (NAVSHIP
900,707) with 5 different contracts listed. It says that all three
receivers were included with the first three contacts (June 29 1940 -
August 24 1943), but only receiver #2 was included in the final two
contracts (November 11 1944 & August 8 1945) and its dynamotor was
only included in a portion of those. Weird?
Then there's the link Nick K4NYW posted a while back to a 1950s manual
(dated 1957?) on his site showing equipment used or still listed. A
single RAX was included in one of those packages.
There just doesn't seem to be a lot of information about these rigs
out there, or references to their use. Too bad, really. I bet there
are some interesting stories involved.
