Harbor Freight has a 45 watt panel with a regulator kit that was recently on sale.I bought two but have not set them up yet I have two 12V deep cycle batts I use to keep a few things running when the power goes out here during the rainy season and to power green radios of course!

Tony:
Whatever solar panel you decide on, don't forget to buy a charge
ontroller to go with it. Solar panel DC output is very erratic, depending
n sunshine (a.k.a insolation) and the output voltage can climb to somewhere
round 140-150% of nominal batt terminal voltage. E.g., a "12 VDC" solar
anel could actually produce as much as 17 or so volts in bright sunshine.
ou'll need to have the controller between the panels and batts to maintain
he proper charging voltage being fed to your batts.
The controller will also shunt any excess energy when your batts are
ully charged (their terminal voltage is at 28-29 VDC) so you don't
vercharge the batts. (That's one problem with solar energy - you can't
fford a large enough battery plant to hold all the energy that can be
roduced on a really sunny day. This excess energy only raises the batt
oltage, possibly damaging the cells.)
