Subject: painting over bare patches on black wrinkle mil gear

Hi all,

Some time ago, there was a thread (pretty sure it was on the Arc-5 reflector) about the best way
of painting over bare spots on black wrinkle surfaced mil gear.

My own solution is to apply a coat of black acrylic paint to the worn/blank areas, let it dry
then apply a "semi-liquid" (gooey) layer using the bristle end of the brush - that is to
say, lightly jab the bristles at right angles to the surface worked on. This yields a surface finish, very
similar to the genuine wrinkle finish. The brush bristles on the 'jabbing brush'have to have a certain stiffness.

(I paint on canvas -- not usually on mil rigs -- so I have a good supply of paint types
 on hand. www.oncanvas.dk )
