[Milsurplus] Noise question, not too far off topic.

        Seems you have a pulse type noise problem. Two of the best Noise
Blankers were made by Collins and Drake. The Collins 136B noise Blanker
was used in the KWM-2/2A when going Mobil. It used the AM radio antenna
as the sense antenna. The drake noise blanker was a little simpler
design. If you have a copy of the ARRL Hint and Kinks circa 1968 in the
receiver section it shows the circuit. It could be easily built as an
outboard accessory. If you local power company knows of the problem, stay
on them, phone calls, e-mail, letters. remember the squeaky wheel gets
the grease.
