That's one I never heard of either.

It could not have been a derivative of both the AN/ARC-58 AND the KWT-6.
Two sets more unlike each other would be hard to imagine.  The AN/ARC-58
had a commercial model of 618C.  It was the 1 KW PEP SSB aircraft radio
used by USAF-SAC in many KC-135 and B-52 aircraft more than 40 years ago.

Maybe the AN/URC-32 is the similar set to which you refer.  I've never
seen a receiver that was similarly constructed.  Most Navy ships of the
AN/URC-32 era used the R-390/URR series of receivers for other HF needs.
