SCR stands for Set, Complete, Radio. RC for Radio Component. BC for Basic
Component. There were of course case of mis-application (as there were in
the AN system) but generally RC was assigned to groups of items that didn't
make up a complete Radio Set and/or were used in several sets (either SCR or
AN or both). Most examples seem to have been either Antenna,
Countermeasures, Interphone, or Remote Control systems.
