[Milsurplus] IFF unit?

Looking to ID this massive unit that followed me home this weekend

It has been suggested that it is an IFF transponder.
Until I can come up with a SCR number I have little to go on.

It was thought to be a SCR 595   Not sure?

Any help would be great.       Thanks
