[Milsurplus] BC 344 by Gray Bar

I obtained a very nice BC 344 with the 'leatherette' paint finish but what was interesting was who the mfr was , it was Gray Bar , the electrical parts distributor. Also the date on the nomenclature plate was 1938 and s/n 28.

 Has anyone seen Gray Bar on any other gear listed as the mfr? Where they making radios in the 20's and 30's?
