OK.  I take it that means your S/N is over 1000.  Which means the much more 
common IF converter.

I've often wondered why people do that.  Seems to be most common with 
Collins civilian stuff.  But of course, were someone to ever advertise for sale 
BC-654 S/N 4777x, ...
