John,

Congratulations for the "catch"!

This means I have some work to do - I need to scan my R-366 manual...

The R-366 was a 1949 Marine Corps (still Bureau of Ships then)contract
for a multi-purpose communication receiver, which served as troop
morale receiver, public address and communications receiver. The
original package consists of a shipping crate/receiver stand, a 12"
Jensen speaker which mounts in the crate as speaker enclosure for the
effect like a big boombox. It's a pretty decent communications
receiver, and has great sounding AM with the push-pull pair of 6AQ5's.
The weird thing is the reversed gear for the dial, you tune in the
opposite direction from the pointer movement. I have all the
accessories, speaker and crate and I can shake the windows of the
shack if I crank up the volume...
