There was an article - probably in CQ Magazine, (slight chance it was QST) somewhere around 1960-68 about a hombrew transmitter put together form different military suprlus transmitter parts. Maybe just a photo and a caption, and not a construction article.
As I remember, the front panel was black (crinkle?), an ARC-5
rotary inductor was at the front panel. I think the tuning knobs were taken from a BC-375 Tuning unit - it was enclosed in a black cabinet, had a PA mA and perhaps an RF ammeter.

Can't seem to find it in my CQ / QST collection (1956 to 1980's but with large gaps), though I'm sure it once was in one of my magazines - perhaps in one of the issues I gave away. The reason I'm searching for it is I remember really it being turned on by its appearance and have always wanted to duplicate it. I tried to find it in CQ Magazine's archive website - but no luck, so far.

Thanks in advance,
Henry - OZ1UF-OU5T, Cph.
