Hi,

When I first saw posts about Ebay and Ebay policy I thought it might be
off topic. But that is one of the main avenues to acquire milsurplus or
boat anchors or glowbugs or whatever. If I hadn't taken the time to sort
through all the posts describing all the 'scams' and shady practices I
would surely have been skinned by now. I stopped selling (I was never a
big shot seller on Ebay) a long time ago but I do still buy some things
there. I have found some good deals. I have also taken a pass based on
as little as one wrong word in an Ebay listing. because I have sold some
things or traded some things on Ebay or the lists I have some idea how
much it should cost to ship things.

I don't really have anything to add to the Ebay shopping 'wisdom' but I
would like to thank the people who have pointed out so many pitfalls.
Yeah...what's up with a ham (or anybody else) who is selling a rig
"untested" so no guarantee, but has a half dozen other similar items
that he has been using on the air daily. I buy non working schtuff but I
don't want to pay working radio prices for it. I just took a pass on an
R-23 (would love to have another one) just because the guy hinted at
jacking me up for shipping and insurance and....

73,

Bill
