Thanks to all who offered info on Jones. The full name, "Howard B. Jones"
gets us past the research hump and provides enough info to look at some of
the patents as well as a "Wireless Age" ad for a "condenser cleaner" (Sep,
1923, pg. 86; search google books).

Hard to tell from web resources whether H.B. Jones started the connector
business from scratch of if he converted E. C. Manufacturing Company, an
unprofitable manufacturer of small parts. H. B. Jones obtained control of
E. C. Manufacturing in 1917 in an attempt to improve the business so as to
pay debts incurred by the business from his father, Arthur B. Jones.

Looks like there was an attempt to liquidate E. C. Manufacturing in late
1922 or early 1923, so it's not clear if E. C. Manufacturing Co, became the
manufacturer of Jones plugs or if H. B. Jones started the connector business
from scratch.

( Note: E.C Mfg /Jones info is from the background to a Tax Case :

)

As far as that goes, it is not entirely certain that the H. B. jones who got
control is the same one that Invented Jones Plugs, but it seems possible.

One of the day's I'll get down to the library of congress and spend time
fleshing out various stories like this. This is not particularly vital, but
is an interesting part of the technical history.

PS John, the date/time has been adjusted. I tried to set the year to 1945,
but the computer won't let me.
