[Milsurplus] Turbo Encabulator

Yeah, I recall that even back in the 1960's (and I DO remember the '60's) "Cinch" and "Jones" were used interchangeably.
They did not seem ot appear in Amateur projects 'til after the war, and except for the plug on the BC-348 mount, nothing seems to appear on Military equipment til after the war.
The BC-348 plug had an RCA number and seemed to have a slightly different configuration than the typical Jones plug. The Marconi R-1155 used on Lancasters had the real article which seemed to be a holdover from similar commercial aviation radios. The BC-639 looks to employ the earliest US use of Jone's plugs, but that is a British design. So the Question remains, "Who was Jones?"

And when you're done researching wemie crystals check out "Write Only
Memory" (WOM). Although the Turbo Encabulator really seems to take the
cake in my view.

Earliest use of "Jones" plugs that I've been able to find in available
literature seems to be on Marconi Aviation Radios in the '30's. My
question: Who was Jones?

I haven't heard that mentioned in years. I remember when BBN pulled the wool
over the engineering community's ears in the 50s with the "wemie crystal".
