John et al,

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone but this is another case where the
frequent propensity for hams to ignore or shorten nomenclature can lead to
confusion. ME-11(*)/U it the major component of RF Wattmeter AN/URM-43(*). I've
no idea whether this makes it a Bird 611 or not but ME-11/U is rated 100-500
MC (50-600 with chart corrections), uses specially selected 1N21B diodes,
and range selection is made by plugging the diode in its holder into the
proper socket on the front panel. ME-11A/U through ME-11C/U are all similar in
that they cover 50-600 MC directly, have a range switch and use an
internally mounted 1N82.

Final manual covering all four models is T.O. 33A1-7-9-1. Reprint $11.20
plus shipping. I also have (assuming I can find it) one only extra original
of TM 11-5133 covering AN/URM-43A (incl ME-11A/U) only. $10.35 plus
shipping.
