I received a fair number of responses saying the meter is the military
version of the Bird 611. Unfortunately, it is not. The ME-11A/U by Electro
Impulse Lab., Inc. has only one detector diode, a 1N34 or 1N82 style. The
611 uses a 1N21B point contact cartridge diode. There is a toggle switch on
the front of the ME-11A/U to change scales, 15W or 60W. The 611 uses two
sockets for the detector diode to switch scales. There are three internal
calibration potentiometers in the ME-11A/U. The 611 has none. The ME-11A/U
meter does not have any frequency limits printed on the meter dial. The 611
meter says 30-500 MC. The ME-11A/U label plate says for General Radio Use.
If anyone has the wiring diagram, frequency range, and the 60 Hz calibration
instructions for this ME-11A/U, I would be very grateful for a copy. A
complete manual would be a super plus. I would be happy to pay for copies
and shipping.
