A nice looking but inop (blown fuse) example just sold on the Bay for $895.

I lived in Venice CA during the 1980s and visited a junk store on Venice Blvd that had a big stack of ARR 41s in unmodified cndx with dynamotors and mech filters still inside. I think it was the remains of Arrow Electronics inventory. The price as $85 each which I thought was a bit high. The seller would not budge a penny on price unless I wanted to buy all of them. I passed. The store closed shortly after my visit. Wonder where they ended up?

A schoolmate of mine was good friends with the owner of JJ Glass, a surplus electronics dealer in LA. We were treated like family when we visited the store and I got 50% off on the few items I could afford to buy. Too bad I was on a student budget back then. JJ Glass too closed soon after my visit.

Saw a nice original ARR 41 installation in the Navy (WV1?) Super Connie that is on display at the old Chanute AFB in Rantoul Illinois. I have a photo of it somewhere and will post it when I find it. The most amazing bit of gear on that Connie was a VACUUM TUBE INS (Inertial Nav System). I had no idea they existed.
