Its interesting to read all the comments about "house cleaning" and
respect for your spouse when she's left to clean up the "pieces".
I've disposed of about 10-12 radio estates, either the owner was
deceased or the was moving into smaller quarters, in retirement. Some
basement "collections" amaze me and nothing satisfies the previous owner
and me too, when a good home is found for it all. The result, of course,
is a truck load of components which stay in my basement.
My advice to those wanting to ensure your treasures are disposed of
quickly is to keep manuals with equipment, be willing to offer a better
deal for local pickup( avoids packaging, shipping etc) and be
reasonable. Flea markets and local swap nest as well as knowledge of
"the going rate" helps. So do a familiarity with what is "hot" and who
is looking.
In the past year, it has taken a little longer to sell some items and
the tube geeks seem less than before but most stuff sells. If anyone has
a use for transmitting tubes let me know. There seems to be an abundance
of them.
Happy trading.
