The photo caption is, "Part of the extensive radio equipment that is carried
by Army Airways Communication System (AACS) planes. This particular
installation shows arrangement in Curtis A-12"  ( Tele-Tech, Feb. 1949.
How about that for a "current photo" ?? ).
When I looked at the A-12 photos I wondered if the caption was right.
Why would AACS have planes? Why would a 2-seater have such a 
big radio ( BC-229 with CW adapter, BC-AA-191 transmitter, trailing
antenna ).  Some internet text states the AACS started 1938 but all
the information
