[Milsurplus] Info needed on McDowell MRC-50 ac/dc power supplly-battery eliminator

Need general info on the MRC-50 clip-on power supply for the PRC-138/113

Got one brand new in the box recently, just want to hear from anyone else that has one of these.
Has anyone successfully tried to modify the battery charger circuit to work with anything other than BB-390 sla batteries?  McDowell is not the place to ask, even when I worked at a USAF PMEL, they would not even supply as much as cable pinouts. lol

BTW, works well to power the PRC-138, even on data and at full power out.  Operates from 11-30 DC or 90-240 AC.  Replaced by their current model MRC-82, IIRC.
