[Milsurplus] ARB Receiver Questions

Hi John,

The 991 is a neon bulb, without an internal series resistor.  RCA used 
this as voltage regulators in ARB, BC-348, and possibly others.  It's 
the component connected to the 12AS7 screen grid in the schematic, and 
stabilizes the local oscillator.  You could replace it with about 60 
volts of Zener diodes.  Radio will probably work without it, but could 
be drifty.
