That's a many times demonstrated fact.  I'll cite again
two examples that I experienced:

(1) A USAF C-131 at Blytheville AFB in 1970 still had an
    AN/ARC-8 [AN/ART-13A, AN/ARR-11(BC-348)] installed,
    plus an AN/ARC-3.
(2) USN TS-2A Tracker aircraft trainers at NAS Corpus
    Christi in 1972 still had a AN/ARC-2 HF transceiver,
    R-23/ARC-5 range receiver, and AN/ARN-6 ADF.  IIRC,
    it also had a AN/ARC-27 UHF-AM set, but I saw a
    lot of those still in service in the early 1970s.

These had to be pretty challenging for the radio techs to
keep running.
