Actually, they were advertised way before that in QST as well as other radio
publications. As mentioned before, it seems the BC-14A and the BC-15A were
the most popular. While there is an abundance of both, BC-14As were
manufactured by about 6 different companies, all slightly different and some
are very rare. On the other hand, all BC-15As as far as I know were
manufactured only by the "Connecticut Telephone and Electric Company". In
spite of that, they are still very plentiful. 73 - mike
