Back in the good old days on Fido, I was on several echoes with the
same bunch of characters. With myself, there were four Mikes/Michaels
so we decided to reduce the confusion by using the name Bruce instead.
This had the desired effect and we were quite happy.

As a note, it was one of these echoes that gave birth to the terms
Moderaptor and Moderaptorial Entity (and occasional other uses of
Moderaptorial as an adjective) as well as particularly strange takes
on the War of 1812 and on Geography.

Speaking of the War of 1812, while obviously no electronics were
involved, I wonder what was considered surplus then and how difficult
it was to acquire. Stepping forward slightly over a century, what in
the way of radio equipment came up as surplus after WW I?

Best regards,

Bruce ... er, Michael, WH7HG
