Marty, Jim Creek in Washington State used a VLF antenna
strung between two mountains. It was the last VLF to go
except Sweden.. Marion, MA, was on 25.8 KHz running
RTTY. I copied them in Alaska in 1957. These frequencies
were so low that loops were the only thing that would work.
I undertand that even after WWII the British Post Office used
VLF for traffic to Europe. I also know the Germans had
6-Meter systems all over middle Europe.
