I scanned the reference, looking for an author to see if the original was in the SwRI DF files.  I discovered the author, Toth, E. authored two other documents. "Preliminary Instructions for Installation and Operation of Type 50085 Coupling Loop Unit".  USN, NRL LetterReport No. RA 50A 249C; 1 Jan 1942. (SwRI accession # 1419.

Then: "Instructions for Modification of Type CN 50085 Low-Frequency Coupling Units for Use With DQ or Clearing Line Loops" USN NRL Letter report RA 50A 252A, 6 Jan. 1942. (SwRI # 1421)

These documents have been transferred to the library at the Naval Pstgraduate School in Monterey CA.  My last contact there retired 31 Dec. 09.  You might try contacting the librarian to see if they will make copies.  The documents will be filed under the SwRI accession numbers.  OTOH, they may be available from the same source that your reference came from.

I partially answered my own question.  There's a 1950 document "NRL 
Report 3605" "Underwater Loop Reception Phenomena and Technique" here:

Just a reference in the bibliography to another document that indicates 
my CN-50085 was used with a CN-24111 loop and an RAK.

I'd still like a schematic.
